Words of Wisdom:

A lot of walking away will do your life good.

Walk away from arguments that lead you to anger and nowhere.

Walk away from people who deliberately put you down.

Walk away from the practice of pleasing people who choose to never see your worth.

Walk away from any thought that undermines your peace of mind.

Walk away from judgmental people, they do not know the struggle you are facing and what you have been through.

Walk away from your mistakes and fears, they do not determine your fate.

The more you walk away from things that poison your soul, the healthier your life will be.

Words of Wisdom:

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends. ~Maya Angelou

Bishop Tom's visit/Confirmation

It was a beautiful morning at St. Stephen's as Bishop Thomas Ely made his annual visit to us. We had a three confirmations, a full house and a very lively potluck following the Eucharist. Thank you, Bishop Tom, for affirming us and recognizing the amazing place St. Stephen's is.

Bishop Ely visit on January 15

We are very happy to welcome Bishop Tom Ely back at St. Stephen’s as she makes his annual visit to St. Stephen’s on Sunday, January 15. A potluck will follow the Mass.

An Episcopal Visitation is an opportunity for us to connect with the whole of the Church in the person of our Bishop. It is a chance for us to show our Bishop the vitality of our congregation and share with her news of our common life. An Episcopal Visitation is also an occasion for people to be Confirmed and Received into the Episcopal Church.

Confirmation

In Confirmation, we publicly reaffirm, in the presence of our local community and the Bishop (whose presence represents that of the whole Church), the promises we made—or which our parents made on our behalf—at baptism.

Reception

Those who have been previously Confirmed by the laying on of hands of a bishop in another communion of the Church, may be Received into the Episcopal Church.

We will also be welcoming any new members who would like to be recognized during the service that morning.

If anyone is interested in being Confirmed or officially Received into the Episcopal Church or simply recognized as a new member, please send an email to Fr. Jamie so you can fill out a Confirmation/Reception form.

Words of Wisdom:

Confirmation is a time to remember the promises of God, He has said that He will always be there to guide us in every circumstance and to renew our faith when we are discouraged. He offers us strength to overcome temptation and difficulties. Most of all, He has promised that He will always love us.
