New Altar

The Vestry of St. Stephen's last Sunday voted unanimously to replace our present altar (which is severely cracked) with a new altar.

This week Mark McAllister at Hurley's graciously sent the design for the new altar, which we hope to have consecrated when Bishop Carol Gallagher visits on October 21.

Prayers for the repose of the soul of Marjorie Sorge

The prayers of St. Stephen’s are requested for the repose of the soul of Marjorie Sorge, wife of Bishop Elliott Sorge. Bishop Sorge was the second Rector of St. Stephen’s (1960-1964), before becoming the Bishop of South Central Brazil. Marge died last evening (August 11, 2018)

Please also keep in your prayers her children, including the Rev. Marianne Ell (who served at St. Peter’s Williston), and their entire family at this time.

Almighty God, before whom live all who die in the Lord: Receive our sister Marge into the courts of your heavenly dwelling place. Let her heart and soul now ring out in joy to you, O Lord, the living God, and the God of those who live. This we ask through Christ our Lord. Amen.

PRIDE WEEKEND EVENTS for ST. STEPHEN’S

Saturday August 11  

11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. – Pride in the Park, Island Park, 616 1^st Ave. S., Fargo (set up is at 10:00 a.m.).

Additional volunteers are needed to help with kids' crafts at our table, especially between 11:00 and 2:00. Helping during any subset of those 3 hours is welcome.

Sunday August 12   

2:00 pm – Pride Parade (beginning at the Intersection of 5^th St and 4^th Ave. N.)

St. Stephen's is again participating. Join us for leisurely walk along the parade route in downtown Fargo; we will gather at the corner of 8th St N and NP Ave at 1:30. (The parade ends at 4th Ave N and 5th St N.)
