Prayers & Blessings for the Guatemala Medical Mission Team

I ask the prayers and blessings of St. Stephen’s for Dr. John Baird and the Guatemala Medical Mission Team as they leave for Guatemala on Saturday, June 28.
O God, whose glory fills the whole creation, and whose presence we find wherever we go: Preserve the Guatemala Medical Mission as they travel; surround them with your loving care; protect them from every danger; and bring them in safety to our journey’s end; through Jesus Christ
our Lord. Amen.
Almighty and most merciful God, we remember before you all poor and neglected persons whom it would be easy for us to forget: the homeless and the destitute, the old and the sick, and all who have none to care for them. Help the Guatemala Medical Mission and all of us who serve you to heal those who are broken in body or spirit, and to turn their sorrow into joy. Grant this, Father, for the love of your Son, who for our sake became poor, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayers for the repose of the soul of Wallace Mayer

The prayers of St. Stephen’s are requested for the repose of the soul of Wallace L. Mayer, who died June 24, 2014.
Please also keep his wife, family and friends in your prayers as well.
The Requiem Eucharist will be held at St. Stephen’s at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28.
His ashes will be buried at a later date in Kinkead Cemetery, Alexandria, Minnesota.
Rest eternal grant to him, O Lord;
And let Light perpetual shine upon him.
May his soul, and the souls of all the departed
Rest in peace, and rise in glory.

Statue of St. Francis

Thank you to Vicki Hochstatter for her very kind gift of this statue of St. Francis for our garden at St. Stephen's.

Thank you for a WONDERFUL day

Thank you to everyone who made Sunday a truly wonderful day. It was a great morning! The church was packed to the rafters, there were lots of visitors and friends, Bishop Michael preached an entertaining sermon, my ordination vows were dutifully renewed and our beautiful baptismal bowl (which was still ticking after its last firing) was duly consecrated. And Fr. Jamie got specially doused with holy water by Bishop Michael.
Thank you to Bishop Michael for his presence and humor.
Thank you to the vestry for their kind gifts to both Bishop Michael and me.
Thank you to our acolytes, torchbearers, worship leader, lector, cantor and everyone for their hard work.
And thank you to everyone for your presence, your cards, gifts and kindness to me.
It was a truly beautiful day yesterday
