Rogation 2022

Today, after Mass, we processed out to the memorial garden for our Annual Rogation blessing and to bury the last set of unknown cremated remains in our memorial garden. Lennart Berry and I showed off our funny hats after the service.

It was an honor to officiate at the service for Wayne Lubenow (who died March 6, 1991: his urn in the left) and Bob Gisvold (who died Dec. 6, 2017) this morning.

Some may remember Wayne as a reporter and columnist for the Fargo Forum for many years and later with the Midweek Eagle. Wayne and his wife Rosie were faithful long-time members of St. Stephen's. Bob was Rosie's long-time companion after Wayne's death in 1991.
After the service several members of the family met again for lunch at Granite City to celebrate Rosie's 89th birthday.

We blessed our new aspersorium (holy water bucket) and aspergellum (holy water "wand") today at Mass. They were generously donated by Steve Bolduc in memory of his parents Helena and Robert.
