Spaghetti Supper

It is a very rare occasion that we at St. Stephen’s ask for help. We have long prided ourselves on our persistent self-reliance. However, our old furnace is on its very last leg and we need to replace it. So, we are hosting a spaghetti supper. Proceeds from the supper will go for a new furnace.

Please join us for our meal any time 5:30-7:30 on Thursday November 6 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church (120 21 Avenue North in Fargo).
If you are unable to attend, but would still like to help out with the furnace, please send donations to St. Stephen’s, with “furnace” clearly marked on your donation. You can also donate to St. Stephen's through Paypal.

Prayers for the repose of the soul of Bishop Creighton Robertson

The prayers of St. Stephen’s are requested for
the repose of the soul of
Bishop Creighton Leland Robertson,
Retired Bishop of South Dakota,
who died October 25, 2014

Bishop Robertson was the brother Sam Robertson, spouse of the Rev’d Liz Powers, former Priest-in-Charge of St. Stephen’s.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, at Calvary Episcopal Cathedral, 500 South Main, Sioux Falls. A wake service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, also at Calvary Episcopal Cathedral.

Please keep his entire family in your prayers as well.

The obituary can be found here:

Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend your
servant and Bishop, Creigton. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of
your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your
own redeeming. Receive him into the arms of your mercy,
into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the
glorious company of the saints in light. Amen.

May his soul and the souls of all the departed, through the
mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

All Saints/All Souls Octave

Octave of All Saints/All Souls
Once again this year at St. Stephen’s we will devote an entire week to celebrate the saints in our lives. In preparation for the Feast of All Saints (which is one of the most important feast days in our Church year), we will be remembering all of the saints in our lives (those whom we have loved and who have shown us something of who God is). We will be offering several opportunities at St. Stephen’s to honor those who have passed on before us to the larger Communion of Saints.

+ A list has been placed in the Narthex for you to write the names of your deceased loved ones so they may be remembered at the special Requiem Mass we will celebrate on Wednesday October 29. You can also send any names to Fr. Jamie at apium@aol.com and he will make sure they are remembered at the Requiem Mass and their names placed on the altar on All Saints Sunday.

+ A special altar has once again been placed in the Narthex. Please bring a photograph or other memento of your loved one to be displayed there from October 26 through November 2.

+ Attend the Requiem Mass at 6:00 pm Wednesday Oct. 29 and the All Saints Sunday Mass on November 2.
