I hope I can be an autumn leaf, who looked at the sky and lived. And when it was time to leave, gracefully it knew life was a gift. ~Dodinsky

Octave of All Saints/All Souls

Once again this year at St. Stephen’s we will devote an entire week to celebrate the saints in our lives. In preparation for the Feast of All Saints (which is one of the most important feast days in our Church year), we will be remembering all of the saints in our lives (those whom we have loved and who have shown us something of who God is). We will be offering several opportunities at St. Stephen’s to honor those who have passed on before us to the larger Communion of Saints.

+ Beginning before this week, a list will be placed in the Narthex for you to write the names of your deceased loved ones so they may be remembered at the special Requiem Mass we will celebrate on Wednesday November 1. You can also send any names to Fr. Jamie at frjamieparsley@gmail.com and he will make sure that their names placed on the altar on All Saints Sunday and that they are remembered by name at the Requiem Mass.

Pocket Prairie Update

On Friday November 3 at 10:00am, the Green Team will be placing cardboard and wood chips on top of a big portion of St. Stephen's front lawn. The purpose of this activity is to prepare the area so, in the spring, we can begin planting the St. Stephen's Pocket Prairie! If you would like to be of assistance, here are some ways you could help:

1) Collect open and flattened corrugated cardboard (what boxes are made from), and bring it to the church on November 3 at 10:00 OR contact Amy Phillips and she will come get it from you! (kaphillip@gmail.com or 701-219-4591)

2) Make a small donation toward the cost of the wood chips (contact Amy Phillips and she will get it from you -- kaphillip@gmail.com or 701-219-4591)

3) Come to the church and help us lay down cardboard and spread wood chips on November 3 at 10:00am.

Thank you for supporting St. Stephen's efforts to protect God's Creation and to work for environmental sustainability and responsibility!
