New Bell Tower!!!

A very good day on this Feast of the Sacred Heart for St. Stephen's! We acquired our new (actually 61 year old) bell tower!! The old steel "steeple" at the about-to-be-demolished St. Paul's Newman Center at NDSU will be delivered next week. It is almost like it was custom made for our congregation, with colored Mondrian-like panels and all. It was no doubt even constructed by the same company who made the white steel cross on our steeple (St. Stephen's was built in 1956, the Newman Center in 1958). It still needs much work to accommodate our bell, but, for now, one step at a time. I was also surprised to learn that it is much taller than I originally thought, topping out at almost 40 feet!
