From the Green Team:

Lavender has been known for centuries to add a sweet, soothing aroma to homes and clothes. It’s also excellent for pest control since it helps repel fleas, moths, mosquitoes, flies, and even scorpions. The lavender plant is easy to maintain since it is known to be able to survive all weather conditions, though it particularly thrives in the sunny areas of your garden and near entrances to your home. From the Green Team:

Marigolds work for a variety of pests and critters that might bother your vegetable garden. Rabbits won’t cross lines of marigolds, so plant them around and amongst your vegetables.

They also repel other pests, such as:

·         Squash Bugs

·         Thrips

·         Tomato Hornworms

·         flies

·         Root Nematodes

Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who came to my 20th Ordination anniversary on Sunday. It was ana amazing day! Thank you for all the kind words, cards and gifts, but most of all thank you for all the support.  It was a beautiful day!

Fr. Jamie

Good to know:

Why do Episcopalians have red doors?

Some call it tradition; others think it's just a snappy-looking color. But the deeper reason is the firm belief that our churches are places of refuge. As is the case with many churches, Episcopal parishes use red to let the world know what we're about. Red is the color of Christ's blood.

From the Green Team:

Ladybugs are the best general soldiers in any organic garden, greenhouse, grow room, patio, rooftop garden, interior scape, or anywhere pests exist.

·         Ladybugs do the work for you. Introduce them into the desired area and watch them defeat bad bugs that damage your plants.

·         Support your backyard ecosystem! See improvements in the health of your plants without introducing harmful chemical pesticides.

·         Maximize your harvest - healthy plants produce more.

·         Natural, sustainable, and people/pet friendly.

Words of Wisdom:

When we seek for connection, we restore the world to wholeness. Our seemingly separate lives become meaningful as we discover how truly necessary we are to each other. ~Margaret Wheatley

From the Green Team:

Installing a rainwater harvesting system on your property will provide you a source of free water for your plants and flowers. A system such as a rain barrel is a great, green choice that is easy to install and easy to use.

They are fairly inexpensive and easy to install. Your rain gutters can drain into the barrels, and you can have a faucet and hose attached to the barrel. Make your own or buy them at your local home improvement store.
