Octave of All Saints/All Souls
This year at St. Stephen’s we will once again have an entire week to celebrate the saints in our lives. In preparation for the Feast of All Saints (which is one of the most important feast days in our Church year), we will be remembering all of the saints in our lives (those whom we have loved and who have shown us something of who God is). We will be offering several opportunities at St. Stephen’s to honor those who have passed on before us to the larger Communion of Saints.
+ A list will be placed in the Narthex for you to write the names of your deceased loved ones so they may be remembered at the special Requiem Mass we will celebrate on Wednesday October 31. You can also send me any names to Fr. Jamie at apium@aol.com and he will make sure they are remembered at the Requiem Mass and their names placed on the altar on All Saints Sunday.
+ A special altar will once again be placed in the Narthex. Please bring a photograph or other memento of your loved one to be displayed there from October 28 through November 4.
+ Attend the Requiem Mass at 6:00 pm Wednesday Oct. 31 and the All Saints Sunday Mass on November 4.

Prayers for our Diocesan Convention delegates
I asked the prayers of St. Stephen’s for our delegates to the Episcopal Diocese of North Dakota’s Diocesan Convention which gathers this weekend in Bismarck. They are:
Sandy Holbrook
Heather Reilly
Gin Templeton
Leo Wilking
Prayers also for James Mackay, who is unable to attend due to illness.
And for Fr. Jamie as our clergy delegate.
We are also grateful that, because of the growth at St. Stephen’s, we have gained an extra delegate to Convention this year.
Almighty and everliving God, source of all wisdom and
understanding, be present with those who take counsel
at the Episcopal Diocese of North Dakota’s Diocesan Convention
for the renewal and mission of your Church. Teach us in all things
to seek first your honor and glory. Guide
us to perceive what is right, and grant us both the courage to
pursue it and the grace to accomplish it; through Jesus Christ
our Lord. Amen.
