Pride Weekend at St. Stephen's
Join us this weekend at St. Stephen's to celebrate Pride in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
As part of our on-going ministry to be a safe place where all persons are valued for their full dignity and worth, and living fully into our Baptismal Covenant to “strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being.”(The Book of Common Prayer, p. 305), St. Stephen’s will once again be participating fully Pride events throughout the cities. St. Stephen’s has a wonderfully prominent ad in the “Pride Guide” that is circulating throughout the Red River Valley.
Our events this weekend include:
Saturday, August 11 – “Pride in the Park” at Gooseberry Park in Moorhead. St. Stephen’s will once again have a table and display. Stop by or volunteer to sit at the table and greet people.
Sunday August 12 – 12:30 pm - Pride Interfaith Service at the United Church of Christ in Moorhead. Fr. Jamie will be one of the participants in the service.
Sunday August 12 – 2:00 pm – Several members of St. Stephen’s will be marching together with our float in the Pride Parade through downtown Fargo.
Come along this weekend and show your support and Pride for our Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender brothers and sisters as members of St. Stephen’s.

The birth of Julia Lisbeth Gelinske
Julia Lisbeth Gelinske
Daughter of Bryan and Tifanie Gelinske
Sister of Jason and John
Niece of Michelle Gelinske
Granddaughter of Leon Gelinske
was born Thursday evening, August 2, 2012
O God, you have taught us through your blessed Son that whoever receives a little child in the name of Christ receives Christ himself: We give thanks for the blessing you have bestowed upon the Gelinske family in giving them Julia. Confirm their joy by a lively sense of your presence with them, and give them calm strength and patient wisdom as they seek to bring Julia to love all that is true and noble, just and pure, lovable and gracious, excellent and admirable, following the example of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
